A fire broke out for reasons yet unknown on a passenger bus that was about to enter Türkiye from Bulgaria.
The passenger bus, bearing license plate number 35 AHZ 750 and traveling from Haskovo to İzmir, began to burn late last night in front of a shopping center within the Kapıkule Customs Area after dropping off 21 passengers.
The fire erupted for an unknown reason as the bus was approaching the platforms for customs procedures. Upon noticing the flames, the driver stopped the vehicle and evacuated the passengers. Firefighting teams were dispatched to the scene following reports of the incident.
Bystanders in the area, who noticed smoke rising from the bus, attempted to carry out an initial response to the fire. However, as the flames rapidly intensified, fire crews were sent to the scene. The bus, which turned into a virtual fireball within the customs area, was brought under control after an intensive intervention by firefighting teams.
