Bulgarian-Turkish Business forum Opens in Istanbul

A Bulgarian-Turkish business forum opened Monday here, attended by 200 participants from the two sides. Attending the event are the two countries' economy ministers, Emil Karanikolov and Nihat Zeybekci.

Karanikolov arrived on an official visit to Turkey on Sunday at the invitation of his Turkish counterpart.

A Bulgarian-Turkish business forum was last held in Istanbul ten years ago and the event is seen as a renewal and activation of meetings in such a format for the further development and expansion of the trade and economic relations between the two neighbouring countries. The decision for the Istanbul forum was made at a similar event in Sofia on February 27.

The current forum takes place under the aegis of Turkey's Council on Foreign Relations, the Bulgarian Chamber of Commerce and Industry, the InvestBulgaria Agency, the Bulgarian Agency for SME Development and the Bulgarian-Turkish Business Council.
